Is nothing sacred anymore!? Here's hoping it won't monumentally suck

Everytime I think hollywood has hit the creative bottom, they dredge up something else. God forbid someone makes a movie from a completely new idea every now and then.

It will probably suck more than this...

When I was a kid, I loved "Sea Hunt" with Lloyd Bridges as "Mike Nelson". Back around 1979 or so, I wrote a silly little song about same called The Skindiver Boogie.

I wanted to listen to the theme music for the series (no internet back then!) so I could incorporate it into the song.
I checked the TV listings, figuring one of the cable channels must still be showing the series. Sure enough, at 3AM one night, some station was carrying it so I set up my brand-new VCR and waited.
What I got was a new, updated version of Sea Hunt with a kicky soundtrack by Jan Hammer (of Miami Vice fame) and starring Ron Ely (made a couple of Tarzan movies).
It was so short-lived that IMDB has almost no information on it...

Man, I remember the joke on the opening theme saying it was the national anthem of the country of Hawaii!

I can do without Jack Lord and his continuous harping on the evils of gun ownership, though. The new version hopefully will be free of that.
