Hand forged Ball pein Hammer carved and file worked spiked tomahawk. Fittings are of antiqued copper. Handle is 18 inches of curly maple. Thanks for looking
 
Would have never guessed it was a ball pein hammer in a previous life. I can tell alot of work went into it.......

Cut offs from stocks I make. If you would quit playing with that Indian and build a few rifles, you'd have plenty of curly maple! :D

Looks great, I'd never have guessed it came from a hammer eigther

I got some curly maple boards a while back from some outfit on the internet fairly reasonable, they apeared to be odd sizes that were a little to small for guitars, but were long enough and thick enough to cut into several hawk handles.
 
Tis okay Peter, but I do not like guns enough to want to repair or build any.

You guys find some nice materials.....

Doc, Rade Hawkins carry's ready mades in curley maple. If I remember there 15 to 20 bucks. Also Mark Williams knows of another place.
 
Doc, check the stockmakers llike pecatonica or Fort Hill. They always have sccraps to sell.

I get my curly maple from gunstock cut offs from dunlap wood crafts.
