Hi,
I am curious what you make of my Kukri and if it is possible to identify it as any specific model or make.
I thought I'd hold off on when and where I acquired and give anyone interested a chance at identification. (if that's possible)

Unfortunately it won't let me upload the images.

Assistance would be good 🤔

Welcome to the forum, as a registered member you won't be able to upload pics directly...

Here's the link to the sticky in tech support. Should give you the information you need.

Open a free Imgur account. Upload your pics to Imgur. Find the picture you want to post, and copy the BBCode url. Its the one enclosed in the IMG tags. Paste that url here and the picture will appear in-line with the text.
This url for instance
Code:
[img]https://i.imgur.com/X7flzFI.jpg[/img]
produces this picture

Thanks for your efforts, but Imgur wouldn't let me open an account with my Email (hotmail) ???

All a bit long winded and pointless if you ask me.

I'm a member of 2 motorbike sites and a classic car site and anyone can upload images straight away ??????

At what point am I trusted to just upload am image ?

Thanks DocJD

Any ideas anyone?

The tang was bent in a u shape and cracked a little when straightened, so I welded it to stabilise it.

Wow.

Now that is very interesting.

I was an Apprentice Electrician in 1976-8 and on occasion working on cranes in the Hessle shipyard on the River Humber in the UK.

I found this blade in the silt / mud of the Humber, adjacent to the shipyard sometime over that period.

The yard was active in WW2 and I thought it may be from that period, but of course the yard goes back many many decades, perhaps centuries, before that.

This was well before the internet (well before a lot of things) and I thought it was cool enough to keep.

Thanks, it is even more interesting now 👍

There is also an off chance that is was brought along as a personal "side arm". There are instances where the Gurkhas would keep their issued khuks for presentation like full dress and display but would actually carry a knife from home while in combat.

I have always wondered how the hell did it end up in the silt of the River Humber.

But now knowing it age I'm even more amazed
