Hello - first post here - long time lurker finally joined...

I have a number of blades, however spyderco really has my pockets most of the time. I have lost two of my original Enduras (I say lost yet that is really really really really unlike me - me thinks they walked off - but whatever) and I have been carrying my favorite Michael Walker edition (before the carbon ones were ever thought of) and I love that thing. It has gotten a lot of use, yet I was just looking for something new. Stupid amazon - STUPID AMAZON!!! I go browsing and without even thinking about it...this happened...

Yes I know that it is Chinese made Spyder - yet I bought it anyway as it is going to be the "beater" for now...anyways first photo and first post - look forward to staying around a bit.

Spyderco 8cr13mov is actually a really good steel. The wear resistance is probably less than half of S30V but I've gotten my tenacious far sharper than I have ever gotten S30V, like hair carving sharp. That's using India and Arkansas stones.

Congrats, the Tenacious is a well built knife for the price.
Thank you sir! For the price I think it is GREAT! Loving it so far!
I just got one also. Really liking it so far.
Congrats!

Really? Where is a good resource to find what to buy and how to sharpen your own blades? I have always taken them places to be sharpened for fear of ruining them - I think I am up to the task to try to do this myself :-)

Here is another shot - quick and dirty and I did not take time to clean the dust bunnies up in post :-/

For something pretty much fool proof, the sharpmaker by Spyderco is a great tool. That is pretty much all I use anymore. If you opt for the diamond and ultra fine rods you can repair damaged edges ( takes a lot of time ) and put some scary sharp edges on too. It works great with just the standard rods too but the diamonds and ultra fines take it to another level.

Thank you guys! Is the one found on amazon a complete kit and ready to go or are there other parts and pieces that I need to get?

The kit comes with brown (medium) and fine (white) stones. The diamonds and ultra fines are separate.
