Long time owner of Ka-bar’s, spyderco and Kershaw’s but new BK18 + BK19 shipping to me tomorrow, 11/15/2025 and my first Becker’s. Really happy with all and proficient at sharpening (hand and Chef’s Choice edge select 120). Most are on the verge of large and wanted edc for handy, sturdy quality metal.
Now studying knife carry laws in VA having already concealed handgun carry permit. “Great” knife laws for the public but doubt the hundreds of criminals carrying are concerned with. Really? A class one misdemeanor (up to one year in prison plus a $2500.00 fine) for carrying a concealed knife? And “some” police identifying most fixed blade knives as “Bowie’s” immediately. I know better than most the dangers of police work and needed laws to fight crime and criminals but, well, most of you understand I assume.

Love the design and size but truthfully I have better performance from my more “military looking” ka-bar blades for craft in the woods by a large margin. But the size is perfect! Don’t know if my electric chef’s choice sharpener is going to provide the angle and desired effect.
