I just wanted to throw up a few pics of my ESEE 5. I finally got up the nerve to file my scales and it turned out great!
Maybe a little overkill on the rig ( heavy as hell ), but its all Id need. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! That looks sweet, nice job. I just got a 5 for Christmas and have yet to use it.

Welcome to the forums. Nice job on the scales. What are all the gizmos you have on your sheath?

Yeah, the scales look fantastic, and I'm not a multi-colored or filed scale guy. Well done bro.

And I really like the firesteel, did you buy it or make it?

Very nice work Mr. Brumbo. It looks good! Thanks for showing. Mike

Thanks folks, the hospitality is much appreciated!

These scales were quite slippery from the factory. Filing them really made a difference.
Ive got my home made fire steel ( compression fittings for the handle-reusable ;) a rod of magnesium, and another firesteel inside an aluminum tube-I find theyre pretty brittle and break easily. I like to make sure I have fire, if you hadnt noticed. Thanks again!!

Nothing like being prepared. I have the pouch on my sheath, and I have a tin in the pouch which contains a magnesium bar firestarter, some tinder, and various other items. I also put a Ranger band around the lid of the tin to seal it from water. I love my five by the way.

Your pics are not working?

Hmm.. not sure why the pics went haywire. Just re-entered the info and it seems to be working. Sorry about that!
