I have generally been a gun man most of life , the last 7 years Ive been a knife man , generally because I work in a field that needs constant knives attention , for the last 3 years I had a SOG Seal Pup as my "daily driver" , I also carry my Leatherman (its about 10 + years old and I dont know what model it is ,but its nice) , I always have those two on me at all times , keeping the sog sharp isnt a problem and the leatherman blade is just unreal sharp. I recently "misplaced" my SOG , so I bought another SOG , a Creed this time , its so nice looking as they say but Im not a collector type of guy ,it will look nice and function , I cant see buying a knife for several hundred dollars and not using it , just my two cents , I have hundreds of different pocket blades from the throw aways to some nice spiderco and bucks that I like to keep around ,anyway Im no expert in Knives , matter of the reason Im here is I just an article in this forum on sharpening and im loving it , some things I was doing right and some wrong , one thing I do is use those cheap knife sharpening things you see at hardware stores ,but only for my cheap knives , I mainly use a dry stone , I would like to try out those diamond stones , but Im a cheap bastard so it may not happen . Its like a good spit shine on your boots (I was a US Marine) ,it takes time and patience to really get the shine you want , and thats why I use a stone to sharpen my blades ,I take the time the first time and then after that its easy!

Anyway, Im glad to be here , if you want to tell me anything please do Im all ears and love criticism good or bad , I learn from it!

Welcome to the forum Webster! If you have not plunked down your cash for that SOG yet. you might want to check out Becker or ESEE for a hard use work knife.

welcome to the forum, hows the OK state this time of year??? been there in every month except may!! goingto change that soon hopefully

Nice combo choice, the leatherman is a hall of famer in my book and the seal pup is also a great knife. take some time and post a few thread and learn what you can, the people are great here.

Well I was looking at my MK3 model 0 awhile ago and I like that knife alot , I also have a Knife that was issued to my dad in the 50's (he was a Naval Aviater ) and that thing is awesome even today ! I have a Ka-Bar and yes the Becker b-7 is on my list of knives to get ~

Oklahoma in May , well let me just say ,Im in a Tornado watch right now , twisters have been touching down from OKC to Tulsa (Hopefully they'll miss me, I am at Grand Lake)

Welcome to the forum. Reporting in from Tulsa we are ready for the tornado. Camera is near the front door!

Update: tornado didn't even show up. Hope everyone who was in the path are ok though.

Nice to see other Okies here, you'll find knives to be every bit as addictive as firearms, most of my "fun money" goes to guns, knives, and the occasional watch. All that cool stuff seems to go together.
