Hello,
I'm new here. Made a few posts over on another forum, but seems to pretty much dead there. I got interested in knives when I was a little boy and now that I'm old enough to afford to, I buy ones I really like, but I've developed an urge to make one of my own. Just to see how well I'll do and see if I like it as much.
I started learning how to sharpen knives last year and use a belt sanding system I'm sure you've all seen something similar. Very basic belt sander from Harbor Freight and then some various grades of paper and a leather belt with chromium oxide from a knife supply place. Gives the scariest sharp edges on my folder knives and fixed blades too. I even re-did a cheap Walmart Gerber fixed blade knife I got for $20 to a pretty nice edge (although it doesn't hold it for long
).
Anywho, soon as I figure out where it should go, I'll post some pictures of my collection. I have a couple of my EDC which is a Spyderco Tenacious that I re-did the edge on, so I'll figure out where to put those pics in a minute. I look forward to learning a lot here
