OK...Me? Im a 56 yr old WM from St.L Mo..Been around knives since i could stand on two feet father was a huge knife fan.Spent a great deal of time overseas around cultures that hold steel in high regard. So while others played catch i got to play how to use a knife properly ( still played catch,BUT knives were a big deal )..I collect knives, lately i have been a big fan of Chinese blades..The quality NOW compared to 10 years ago...well there really is no comparing them..is amazing.I have knives that are just as good and some cases better than their namesake ...

I teach ' knife skills ' at my sons Dujo when i find the time, and when im not feeling like a bus ran over me crossing the street..Got REAL busted up on the job several years ago so now i have a body full of metal. And i dont care when they tell me its all in my imagination that when the is a big change in the weather my body aches..bad..

My EDC most days is a Balisong blade of one style or another..with a thin back up knife..My desire is to next learn how to forge and create my own knife..SO all that being said i look forward to spending some time here and learning all i can and maybe even be of help to others when i can be...as always this is JUST ME and my .02

Shalom

i teach blades are a weapon of last resort..and how to hopefully give you enough knowledge and confidence in using your blade,
that if the unthinkable happens and you are fighting for your life or the life of a loved one you will live to tell the story..

I feel odd welcoming you to the site, as I just joined earlier today lol, but welcome.
It's awesome you are looking up info to make your own knife. About two weeks ago kinda the same thing popped into my head, I was just looking through videos on youtube and somehow came across Knife making videos, and it just got stuck in my head that I need to learn how to do this. So have been devouring information on how to get started.

I really needed a hobby, as like you, I have a number of chronic health problems, and really need something with substance and that can bring some self satisfaction to fill my time, until Im healthy enough to go back to work (if that ever occurs).

That being said, good luck on your journey, and I look forward to seeing some of your work if you ddo decide to take up knifemaking.

Cheers.
