Hey all. New here from the frozen north (Maine) Im a self-proclaimed gun nut, but ALWAYS have a EDC folding blade clipped to my pocket. Recently I have gotten interested in fixed blades for neck carry to add to be EDC, and the Becker's have really caught my interest. I started small (didnt realize how small till it showed up int he mail) with the BK13. I want to move up and go to either a Becker Necker, or the Eskabar. Really leaning towards the Eskabar with Izula scales or cord wrap. Anyway enough of that crap.

Heres my first little fixed blade project. I took my BK 13 and added a cord lanyard to the sheath, and wrapped the handle. Really like what the wrapping did for the handle. It makes the small handle much nicer to grab onto. I used OD green para550 cord that I gutted. Wish I had access to black cord, as I think it might look a little better. But the green is nice, and was available at my local big box outdoors store. I had to modify the sheath some with a Dremmel tool to get the knife to click in with the new wrap on it. Heres the final product:

Lookin' good, and welcome to the Becker forum and to Bladeforums. Glad you're here.

The Remora is small, but the hollow grind will take a scalpel sharp edge, and hold it. Great little knife for a combo or backup, I likes mines.

You can't go wrong with the Necker or the ESKabar, they are both tremendous blades that are capable of some serious work.

I love my BK14, its been a faithful companion since I got it. Its done some pretty amazing stuff, like piercing ceiling grid Tbars, cutting ceiling tiles, sheetrock, wire cable, and a myriad of other chores far too numerous to list here.

Congrats on the purchase, I hope there are more in your immediate future.

Looks good, man! Having held both knives, I prefer the 14 over the 11. Either way, though, you can't go wrong! :)

That wrap looks cool. I didn't have the balls to cut up my sheath to fit a wrap so I just have a shorter wrap so that it still fits the sheath. Not as cool as yours but I like it.

Welcome! Hope you stick around this place is great!!!

Thanks for the welcome guys, and all the compliments!

I looked around a bit, but is there a better place for new members to introduce themselves?

Some subforums have an introductory thread where new guys post up a hello and little about themselves. If you like Beckers and plan on sticking around, I think you took care of it.:D

Most just post up in their preferred forum, "Hey, My name is smith, and I'm new here, this is what I got <knife of choice> and I like biscuits."- Smitty.

Feel free to do the same.:D

Once again, welcome, glad you made us your first post.
