Hello I'm new here and need any help someone may be able to give me in identifying and valuing an axe I have recently aquired. I have researched and researched and have come up basically nothing except I believe it was stone cast.and appears quite old

Possibly a fantasy "decorator" piece or wall hanger. More pictures might be helpful. What makes you think it is old?

How long is the handle? Or does it look like the handle was cut?

If it is 5 of 6 feet in length, you might search under the word "halberd", which was an axe on a long pole with a spike on top.
Although yours has no spike, it looks similar in design. ....definitely looks european in origin.

The metal condition primarily leads me to think its old
the overall length is approx 29.25 inches and blade measured in a straight line point to point is 7.25 inches
It looks as though it may have had a point at some Tim broken off as the placement of where it would have been appears uneven and angled slightly also the nail appears hand forged

Rusty means rusty, not old. Looks like something sold by Museum Replicas or any other medieval re-enactment weapon supplier. Old is relative. It may be 30 or 40 years old but its not old as in Olde England.

That socket head held on with a single nail is not really strong enough to do any real chopping. Are there actually any cutting edges or are they all as blunt as they appear?

It has an edge yes. Not easy to photograph and yes there is some rust but I was refferering to the texture of the metal not rust pitting. At one time there were two nails staggered opposite each other.
