New here with question about broad / hewing axe

Hello, I am new to the forum and had a question. I am not new to axes but am new to broad / hewing axes. I am looking at picking one up and am wondering if since they are off center(right or left hand, is the eye tapered like most regular axes? Are there true right / left axes, or can you re haft them from either direction?

Most vintage North American broad axes can be hung either way.

I hung this on for a lefty. There wasn't much of a difference fro one side of the eye to the other.
