Hey guys, My name is Ian, am 19 years old, and I am a new knife collector, starting out with some cheapey charley mtechs (a kabar knockoff, an mtech tanto, and some others), though I am awfully proud of my cold steel GI tanto. I also have a few odds and ends folders. I love knives of most sorts, preferably drop point blades, though I will take anything tbh. I am looking to also buy a Buck 119 special, and am wondering if it is full tang, and how durable the 420 HC steel is.

I live in Roseburg, Oregon, and am always willing to buy and trade in the future, Hope to be a helpful part of this forum!

PS, I have a strange knife who's manufacturer I can not identify. It is Chinese made, but looks solid. I had a smaller version of it when I was little, though broke it using it to pry apart some electronic stuff (I had to Pry very hard mind you lol). It says winchester on it, but I am not sure if it is just a licensing gimick or not, I will ttry to post a picture, or take one off the web. I have been on countless forums, but this one I am having trouble finding out how to upload an image.

Hey lord bueron, there's a rumour floating around this forum that claims everyone is new here at some point

No apologies necessary. To post a pic you would need to upload the pic to an image host like Photobucket (there are others) then include the image code they provide for sharing in your post here on BF.

Thank you for the kind welcome!

Welcome to the forum! Lay in some fresh band-aids and hide your wallet from yourself!

Also, Buck 119 is a classic hunting/woods blade that should serve you great and Buck has an outstanding warranty. I don't like 420HC on a folder as I cut a lot of cardboard and similar, but in a knife like the 119 it's more than acceptable and Buck probably does it better than anyone else in the industry. Be prepared to sharpen it somewhat frequently, but if you take care of it in the outdoors, it will take care of you.

Thank you! I was wondering how well it holds up to stress? is damage ever an issue under "normal" use?
