I’m new to knives. Sort of. My husband collected them for the last few years and I never really understood why he’d spend so much on them. He spent a lot of money on everything, really. Guns, tools, stuff he would buy on amazon and then never open the boxes which would collect in the garage. Then he died this past January. I loved him and his death was very difficult. But I didn’t love his stuff. It just felt like clutter. I sold most of his guns and other stuff. I was going to sell his knives, but I developed a strong appreciation for them. They are like pieces of art. Some are pretty utilitarian, but many have Damascus blades with abalone, ironwood and other exotic materials. He’s got a bunch of Microtechs, Protechs, some Marfiones and some others. So, it amazes me that I recently went online and bought a Microtech knife with a koi motif that cost $600. I can see this becoming an obsession. Lol. Just wanted to share. Hello my name is Angie and I’m a knife addict.

I empathize with this quite a bit, as it was my dad's premature passing and the Benchmade that he carried his whole life that mainly got me into this hobby.

I hope the days get easier for you as
time goes on.
