Just thought I would stop and introduce myself.

My love affair with knives began before i was even in first grade. It went through many stages over the past couple decades until now, having been "out of the loop" for a while, i am back.

There are so many great products out there that were not available where i lived and now, with the WWW, i am looking forward to learning and getting caught up on everything.

Better be prepared to want and perhaps buy a ton of knives now. This place will definately increase both your knowledge base and your list of knives to get. Have fun!

Leave now while you can still get out with a significant other and bank account still intact.

Just kidding, it's too late for you already.

Welcome to the Sanitarium, the wackos will be with you shortly.

In the mean time, sit back and enjoy the show.

Yeah, I think that once you do a search on the internet for a knife then it's already too late for you. :p

Welcome to the forum, uncas.

Sure (nudge nudge, wink wink). It starts that way. You come here thinking you will learn more about knives, and you do, but soon you find yourself wondering what it would be like to own one of those knives everybody is posting about. Then you decide to get one. Afterall it's only one, and what can that hurt. Then you start reading about those Sebenzas, Busses and Striders and again the urge builds until you have to satisfy your cravings. Soon you have have more knives than your wife has shoes. This should be enough for anyone, but then you start to read about custom knives. Ralph, Mayo, Newton, Fisk, there are so many to choose from, where to start? (Nudge nudge, wink wink, you know what I mean?)

I have seen many a new member take this path. Once they have started down this road there seems to be nothing that can stop their insatiable need to acquire more of these magical, sharp, shiny objects of desire. You are probably saying to yourself that this won't happen to you. You have to much will power to let knives take such control of your life. I've heard it all before. (Nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more.)

uncas,

Welcome to BladeForums. If you have a wife, you might as well say good-bye to her now, since you WILL be spending alot of time here, and spending alot of money on getting more knives. Also, before too much time passes, you will be wanting to make your own knives.:D.

I'd say Keith got it just about right. Get the ol' credit card ready, you're gonna need it!
