new HEST design?

I remember reading here it was going to be a bigger "combat" version called the HEFT or something similar...

Yes, it is one of the post by RYP... I couldnt find it... but I read the same thing.
 
I hope we don't wait until next years SHOT show. I assume it will be then when we hear about the Izula Folder.
 
No promises as to when.

Right now it's just a glint in Peltons eye.

Could be 2 years for all we know. ;)
 
I think I remember RYP saying there were eventually going to be three more versions of the HEST! Can't wait to see what the next one is going to be.
 
A bigger HEST. Yeah I'd buy one then. Only reason I havent bought one is I keep reading about the handle being too small and the pry tool pressing on the pinky finger.
 
how does the pry tool hit the pinky ... i tried several grips.... ill put up some pictures with comparison hand sizes... i guess with the rc3 and the rc6
 
I read that the pry tool is the protrusion on the butt of the knife that the pinky rests on. I have a wide hand and that could be uncomfortable. If the do come out with a bigger model it should have a longer handle I would assume. Thats a good thing.
 
I have a large hand and the HEST prybar is no problem for me. For a small knife, it has a generous handle.

Make a life-size drawing or cutout and put your hand on it to get an idea of the fit.
 
I took a measurement with a measuring tape and its a little over 10inches. Thats the middle of my hand where I would be holding the handle. I just wrapped the tape around my hand. Can you measure your hand.
 
Irrelevant. The HEST is 3 7/8 between the guard and prybar. My fingers where they grip the handle are 3 3/4".
 
Im gonna try to find a shop so I can handle one it seems like its a 50/50 chance in my hand.
Anyone know of a good knife shop in new jersey.
 
That's about right. I just got my HEST and now they are coming out with a better model. Now I just have to talk the wife into letting me get the new one and giving her the old one.
