New HK Knife...in need of a name

Hello everyone,

So I've started getting handle son the new HK design. I made it with the idea of getting the most out of 5 1/2" of steel, and tried to make a handle design that would meet some of the feedback from the iris knife. Since most people seem to have issue with the handle shape for this size I tapered the end of this one so that even bigger handed fellas should find it comfortable.

Sorry to be so slow getting these ones done but the holiday season's been hectic as always combined with work's busy season.

Anyway, I haven't come up with name for this one yet, and am open to suggestions, maybe we'll do a poll if there are enough ideas :)

For now here's some pictures of the first 3.

Black Walnut, 5 1/2" OA, 2" blade, 3/32" 01, , saber grind, brass pin and lanyard hole

Olive Wood, 5 1/2" OA, 2" blade, 3/32" 01, copper hollow pin and lanyard hole

Stained Black Limba, 5 1/2" OA, 2" blade, 3/32" 01, brass hollow pin and bras lanyard hole

All together

Dare I say, Winner!

I'm plannign for the enxt to to be Macadamia Nut and Mahogany, parts are ready, holes drileld :)

I see we have a winner but just because -

I offer The Hobbit - reminded me right away of Bilbo's Sting.

Since it is small and will be a great secondary knife, how about fibula or radius for is round handle? HK Fibula. :D

I WIN! I WIN! I WIN!
Acceptance speech and trophy presentation Friday night at 8PM CST on your local HK station!

I haven't quite fixed on a price yet, I'm trying to keep it down (hence no two tone/bolstered ones yet) in the hope of getting some knives in hands, hopeful get lots of good feedback (honest feedback :)) for that reason I think I'll offer them without sheaths which is about $10/15 added to the price normally , but I can do them for anyone who needs it.

John's going to sell them here on the forum I think just as soon as I can get my ...stuff together and send him the info.

I'm thinking around $65/75 for this first lot. Does that seem reasonable, John? anyone else?

I'd definitely be down for the olivewood model for $65 - no sheath needed.

on the naming thing - since you started your first HK as an Iris, why not call this one the Lily?

I like the idea of something small that it resembles. Try finding a flower name that rolls off the tongue though. Lily sounds nice. Maybe even something like - the hummingbird. Anything else small and sharp or that shape come to mind?

I like Dart or Pooka..."Runt" sounds like a good name also.

Sweet knives, regardless of name.
