Hello all,

Well, a wait that seemed like an eternity is finally coming to a close. I don't have the knife yet so I can't comment much on it, I just wanted you to see the pic.

It has a 5 5/8" blade of CPM 3V. Handles are polished paper micarta.

What do you guys think?

Wow!!

That is one beautiful knife. Jerry's work just gets better and better...

I'm especially groovin' on that handle. Is it me, or is that handle more shaped than the others?? Also, is it me, or do I absolutely positively need that knife? A Hossom knife with a CPM-3V blade is truly state of the art; one that size is a "must have"!

abd I must say that I have always shied away from plain black papaer micarta cause it seemd so simple... but in this case the simplicity really shines.. it feels smooth 'sculpted' as you say and has a great surface finish. A sweet knife.

and a knife Jerry raved about.. for a perfectionist like him that means good things

Hi Louis, beautiful knife! You'll love it. The only bad thing about it is you'll want to buy more of Jerry's knives, the're addictive. I know, I have two of the Texican knives,(one of them is the first Texican in ATS-34 ever made) & have another knife on order with Jerry. Take a look at Jerry's Hunter/Killer, it's a great tactical knife in disguise.

I like some of Hossom's work... this isn't one of them. These are all personal choices on aesthetic qualities... but i think this knife is ugly. The size of the gaurd is extreme. I love gaurds... but this one is a bit long. Also, the birds beak on the butt of the handle is a little extreme too. The tip is a little funky too. It may be the picture... but it looks like a really extreme "americanized" tanto tip. If I were to order this knife, I would want a short gaurd and pommel, and more conventional blade grind towards the tip. All just personal grips as far as looks go. I doubt this knife has any performance problems.
 
I Like It. I like the way the Butt flares out and curves downward, seems like it would make for a very secure grip. The Blade and Bolsters merge so well it almost looks integral. Jerry's work is always first rate and it's nice to see that he is exploring new designs.

well as for the issue of taste.. As jerry spat out at me

Everythign about the knife is very usefull.. edge and all.. but there are also some blanks in jerry's collection of 'scraps' taht have a more smoother blade.. those are just purty.. not as nasty but purty.. he's got as many flavours an Ben n Jerrys in his shop =)
