Hi all, the wife and I just bought a new house with 5 acres and a great shop out back. This has been a long time coming as we have lived in the city for 19 years. I am excited to be back out in the country. The new shop is 30ft wide x 45 ft long with 10ft to the trusses. I already have a bunch of plans for the space and hope to have it up and functioning before too long. I have been working till midnight every night trying to get stuff unpacked and set up a bit. I will post more pics and it progresses. -Burton Harruff

Congratulations! You've just achieved what is most likely many a man's dream - some nice shop space. Have fun. Mike

Nice, I want to stop out there some time and check it out. That shop looks great. I know what a hassle it is to move, I just did it this summer, but man, that shop is worth it.

Thanks everyone. It was sure a bunch of work and with temps in the 90's and high humidity the move was strenuous.

Matt you can come for a visit whenever you are in the area I would like to have you over for some forging.

Patrice windows are in the plan and I have a buddy who has a bunch of surplus windows in his barn I need to go over and dig around a bit.

Thanks Salem, it is a Ron Claiborne press. My favorite piece of machinery in the shop. I have forged a bunch of damascus on it since I bought it.

Burton,

That is sure sweet. I know how much you have been looking forward to this move and the new shop space. You deserve it my friend.

Jeff wants to come when Moon and I drive up. Sounds like a good road trip. It will be on the weekend. I'll let you know.

I see space for the BB. Fred

Sounds good to me Freddie. Thanks Carl, Joe and Mike. You'll have to get down here sometime Mike. Its not too far for you now. -Burton

That is a great looking shop! Is that a Morton building? I have plans for a 32' x50' building with an 8-12 pitch roof, with storage trusses for an attic space. Maybe not next year but the year after I want to break ground.

Very nice shop space. My neighbor has a building like that right against my property. He just uses it for storage. I have often wondered if he would notice if I cut a door out of the wall on my end of the building and set up shop in there. :p

Wow, fantastic shop and beautiful piece of property!!! I'm very jealous of the 5 acres! That's exactly what Angi and I were looking for but had to compromise somewhere and it ended up being on the parcel size.

I still am working in the "old shop" as I'm trying to get things squared away for the equipment move. It's awesome to have machines, but it sucks to have to rent TWO forklifts... one to load stuff at the old shop, and one to unload stuff at the new shop! Sheesh!

Hope to see some working shots once you get it all up and running full bore Burton :)
