just finished this up, 3 3/4" blade of ATS-34, stabilized maple handle, brass gaurd.

This turned out a lot better than I though it would, the blade I've had sitting in a drawer for a while, the handle material I've had for over a year. I don't know what posessed me to buy the blue/green dyed monstrosity, but though I'd never use it. I was in the middle of waiting for leather to dry, epoxy to cure, steel to temper, ect. and though I'd see what happens.

would've posted a better pic, but the first try went south.

She looks really COOL Will....The handle almost looks like Buckeye Burl to me.
Someone is gonna love this one.

I like the knife and the permadirt! Do you eat with those hands? ...LOL Actually they aren't too bad. You should have seen mine when I managed a quick lube while I was going to school.

Nice knife!

WILL ATS34, I was expecting to see something made from 52100 but not at all dissapointed. Looks like a really great using knife. I've got some really pretty stabalized handle material I've bought and wonder why I spent the money on it. I'm sure it would look just great on a dag but thats really not where I'm heading at this time. I didn't think the color looked bad at all on this knife....Ray

Thanks Guys, the more I look at it the more I like it, it realy is quite handy in size and shape-used it all day yesterday to cut up scrap leather into squares for stacking for leather handles.

Got the maple from Pop's, it's got a little curle to it, a little spalting, and a lot of burl. May have to try some more latter.

baumr, that aint nothin', I just cleaned my hands up with a little acetone, should have seen them before.:D

Ray, 52100 is my favorite, but every once in a while I get a wild hair and do a little stainless. Lot of people down here like it, besides I still have a couple feet left to use up.;) Just save the handle material, eventualy you'll find a use for it.

I like that. Like the way you drop the point. Looks like you bring the spine out straight for awhile and then curve into the drop.
