New Hunting Knife

When I saw islandblacksmith's new fusion mount kotanto, I instantly fell in love with the design. I just had to make something like it! The steel is leaf spring, and I regret not using a file for this. I wanted a hamon on this one, so...so bad. Anyways, I used some walnut and red tip for the sheath and handle, and a weathered old piece of mild for the guard. This knife really reminds me of a puukko. The kurikata is on the opposite side that it should because it was hard to draw from the inside with such a small handle.

Sweet! I'm really liking your raw/simplistic/traditional style. Can't wait to see what you're bangin out a year from now, I mean at the pace you're movin at. :) Keep up the great work man! :thumbup:

Thanks, coldsteel! I have a nicholson black diamond file just asking for a hamon on a shinogi zukuri knife... if it all works out!
