New Idea for pocket survival

Well at least its new to me. While playing Play-doh with my kids this morning I realized they had all different shapes and sizes of play-doh containers. And like kids they had left the lids off of some of them. As I was going to throw them in the garbage I noticed how tight they sealed up and how easily they slipped into my pocket. ( or pocket survival kit I suppose). Thought they may be good for tinder, lint, fishing kit, etc, etc. But either way they are fairly sturdy and seal up very nice, a lot tighter than some of my old 35mm film canisters. Not quite 2 inches across the top and about 1 inch deep. Anyway just a thought for dads of kids with old playdough containers.- Joel

Its funny how we start to look at containers as survival kits. I have a bunch of tins and other containers laying around with stuff packed in them for grab and go purposes. Good stuff!

That's pretty interesting. I'd never thought to use them for that. Then again, I never really see play-doh that much.

Rocky, your right, not just containers, When it comes to the kids Im always looking for something outdoors-ish, container-like, anything I can do to keep things moving in the outdoor, survival direction. and according to my wife " Ive become obsessed" with containers, grab and go bags, bug out bags, one for every situation. I gotta find something to do right;)

I use the little 5 hour energy bottles for a variety of things...top of the list is reaffirming to Wifey that I am nutz.

I use my old chew cans...yeah I know, I am a horrible person, but they work REALLY well.

If you don't have kids you could always buy a few and bring back some childhood memory's lol. I might check that out. I see the tiny travel size ones a lot a walgreens and cvs
