At GPK, one of the owners told me about a bill in the Illinois state legislature that would legalize autos provided that the owner had a concealed carry permit. I do not like this law for a couple of reasons. First, I do not like the idea of a pocket knife ever being categorized as weapons. I am sure that the great majority of members of BF have never used a knife violently. I know I have owned pocket knives since 1965, and I have never cut anyone except myself in the course of using a knife from time to time. My second concern is that once a permit is required for an auto, I could see the police then confiscating or charging people who carry non-auto one handlers for carrying an auto without a permit. Most folks will just surrender the knife because even a Hinderer or Sebenza will not cost as much as a lawyer for defense.
