Ok....I got some money in my Paypal account that I can't exactly return without hurting both parties involved.

A dozen or so have already donated to the original "special project" idea....

That idea isn't working out. Fine with me. Let's find one that does!

Uncle seems to have showed some improvement and I'm sure he'd appreciate knowing we are thinking about him.

So, how about some nice "Welcome Home from the Hospital" Party money? or a gift certificate? or several dozen Hallmark cards? or.......

Guys - you tell me - I'm all ears. :D

How are they doing fer' medical expenses and such? I'd kick in some moolah fer' some meds. :)

Dan,

Maybe everyone would agree to donating the money to Ram, in Uncle Bill's name.
The money would certainly go a long, long way down the path of human kindness!

Unless UB needs $$$$ for medical expenses, I think Stephen's idea is an excellent one.

Maybe just set it aside for Uncle Bill and Yangdu and let them decide what they need to spend it on.

I like that idea too, olpappy.

so far got some great suggestions.

let's go ahead and get the money raised first. We'll go full-steam ahead until tomorrow evening and take it from there.

Does Yangdu have the money for the expenses when Bill walks west?

I even had a base idea- give Bill a night of gambling....

How does Bill pay for this forum? Should we pay the dues for the next coming year?

munk

good suggestions, munk.

Bill's Quest West has already been paid for.

I like the night on the town idea...

The forum costs $800 per year.....heckuva fee but I'm sure worth it.

I like your line of thinking though.....keep 'em coming!

Sheesh, what's to fight about?

Trying to take a leadership role and spring into action and act for someone else when you didn't know what was going on was not a great idea. There's no rush.

Now you have some money in your paypal account and you've had it for several hours and you're all agog to do something with it -- but you still don't know what's going on. There's still no rush.

After an event like this it normally takes days or weeks before it becomes clear what the patient needs. Just be patient. That money won't really burn a hole in your pocket, not literally....

thanks for adding some perspective, Coug

I had planned on getting this wrapped up in a week or two....."rush" is relative, I guess....

The funny part is....wasn't even my idea. ;)

ok......the forum is free. but doesn't he pay a dealer membership?

No. We figure with all the work the moderators put into Bladeforums they deserve all the privileges of paying members.

sweet deal - makes me even prouder of supporting bladeforums. Kudos to Kevin.
