Is it normal for a new 2019 benchmade infidel to not have symetrical angles on both the front and back of the blade? It's my first Infidel so wasn't sure. It almost looks like it was only sharpened on the front side of the blade for both edges. Pics here so you can see what I'm talking about.

All of the Infidels are chisel ground (like yours). This includes the OTF’s and the fixed blade. All is as it should be!

Okay, thanks for the info. I love the knife, just worry about getting it sharpened when the time comes.

This is so that the knife will be in compliance with most states knife laws.....I had a professional sharpener make the blade on my infidel symetrical.

He's asking about the chisel grind, which has nothing to do with the legality of the infidel. It is still a dagger blade with both edges sharpened, which many states regulate. No states regulate a chisel grind. The chisel grind is done to make the knife thinner behind the edge and for ease of sharpening.

I'm just stating what benchmade told me directly on the phone as I had the same question which is why is it only ground on one side.

Great knife! The technical reason as to why it is only sharpened on the top side is to preserve blade life and ease of sharpening. The functionality of the dagger is not compromised by only sharpening the top side; if the underside was also sharpened, it would remove twice the material and is not necessary.

That makes sense. Thanks for the info! It probably won't ever need sharpened anyway since it won't be my EDC. I have plenty of other knives for that.
