Thanks for the info Gunsil, I amended the title of the thread to fit your information. I admit I am not an actual knife collector and I don't know shit about most of them except what I can dig up on the internet. What did they change on the Ka-Bars from the 50s to make them different than this one?

The mark was changed to Kabar in italicized letters as the only mark in 1951. The Kabar italicized mark with a model number started in the late 1960s.
