New Izula Coming Need Wrap Advice

Hi Rat Packers'

I bought my first Izula and used the paracord in the "kit" to wrap the handle.

I bought an RC-4 and another Izula on Sunday, so it's on it's way.

My question comes from searching out paracord online. There's 450 and 550 available.

My RC-3 has some paracord on the bottom of the full Molle backed sheath, but it's very round and stiff - not like what was in the Izula kit at all. I doubt it would wrap well on an Izula either.

So what kind of paracord is in the Izula kit 450 or 550 strength?

BTW, What looks cool on a black Izula? Red? I was thinking of a different color this time.

Thanks for the help!

Not sure what comes in the Izula Kit, but standard mil-spec cord is 550. And ANYTHING looks good with black, didn't your mother tell you that?

I'm thinking something wild (for me anyway) like bright red?

That's definitely not mil-spec 550 cord on the handle in the picture. It came with the Izula kit.

You should seriously consider the new handle scales. They're reasonably priced and I'm planning on taking the cord off my Izula and replacing it with micarta.

Joe Fowler, I'd love to have the new scales - where can I get them at?

I'm pretty sure it's 550 / 7 strand, that's what came with mine not to long ago.

Thanks, 333rm will keep looking around. :)

I buy my paracord from Supply Captain. It is good quality stuff. Any color you could want and some colors you don't. If you're going to wrap it, pull some of the strands out to make it wrap flatter. You can take out a couple or all of them depending on how flat you want it.

For the price, I'd check out the Izula scales when they become available.

I'll throw a cheap wrap for Wal Mart and pre-order the new scales. Thanks a lot for that link Joe Fowler.
