I wanted to show my new Kydex Izula sheath that Hoopster made for me. It's very minimal, for pocket carry and has jimping on the sheath that unlocks the blade instantly - but there's no play in the sheath - a snug fit.

The pics are more to display the sheath than the knife. It has neck chain holes and a weep hole in the tip.

Glad you like it. The Izula in kydex sure is a thin package. Are you going to try neck carry?

its nice and thin, lot less bulky than the stock sheath from the looks of it.
Can you tell me if it weighs less than the stock?

No, it's in my pocket at all times. I don't even feel it there anymore. I don't carry change or anything so my option doesn't interfere.

This was made exactly the way I wanted it. Others might want more tie-down holes or what have you, but with the jimped sheath it's instantly deployable, with no chance of "flubbing" the draw and opening of a folding knife.

hoopster can make you any configuration you want. This was what I wanted.

It's extremely light and for "my" use, much less awkward than the factory sheath. I still have it if I ever wanted to buy a G-Clip or use the Molle clips for various tie-downs.

As far as weight - w/o breaking out my triple beams, I just closed my eyes and held it in my hand and then tried a few objects on my desk to compare. It feels a smidge less than the weight of an empty, standard size BIC lighter.

My little package is a lot more versatile than a La Griffe and it's lighter and flatter in profile than my Steet Beat. Love it!! :D

Dylside did me one similar ,very low profile with slight jimping... he did a great job but then he stopped for some odd reason

Probably because it's a lot of work for very little profit especially when you consider order correspondence and shipping logistics. So far I do it more for the pleasure of seeing the finished piece. If I ever get sick of it I'd drop the hobby in a heartbeat. Right now I have 6 axe and hatchet sheaths to do for family and friends at cost. I hope that doesn't burn me out.

Actually I just stopped making them so I could concentrate more on making knives, but thanks for the kudos!

That's even more labor intensive. :D I'm sure it's enjoyable when you can hold the finished piece in your hands though.

That it is. The sheath experience was great though since I plan on offering them with my knives when i finally start selling them.

Very nice sheath. I really like how you have the thumb groves on the top. Great work.

Hoopster, do you have a pic of your sheath next to a stock sheath to compare size/thickness?

It really does look like a nice little sheath. I can see it making the Izula disappear in your pocket or around your neck.
