Whaddya guys think ? A more compact but very solid drop point model. O-1 carbon steel, flat ground, 5/32inch stock without a tapered tang, but drilled for balance. The blade is 3inches and is very thin behind the convex edge - the inset detail shows the ricasso area where there is a flat, just to give an idea. Bolsters are black G10 and the handles are stabilised jigged stag bone. Pins are black linen Micarta. Tried to dye the bone but it won't take up much pigment. But when I oiled it it started going a bit more creamy and seems to keep getting more colour. Instead of my usual very lightweight knives, this one sits very solidly in the hand and the balance point is on the middle finger. Any comments appreciated. Thanks. Jason.

So, if this were a jellybean, what flavour would it be?

This knife looks very functional and I like the creamy colour that the bone is turning.

Syabas, Jason.

I like it. It looks like it will fit snugly in one's palm and with the fingers manipulating the blade, it will cut into all kinds of odd corners and joints.

Yes, jelly bean is an appropriate name. :D

venison jerky... :barf:
bone meal... :barf: :barf:

If theres one bad thing about knifemaking, its the smell fo the stuff when you grind anything. Grinding bone, gives off that smell like you've just been to the dentist, the guy / lady takes one look at your teeth and sees an overseas holiday happenin' and goes hell for leather in your mouth with the ole Foredom tool... Jason.

Great looking little hunter, Jason. Simplistic lines, and probably just the right size for a great little hunter. I really like your handle materials combinations.

Jason,

Awesome little knife. I just love a nice, thin edge on a knife. The bone looks very cool too IMO, though I would prefer it I think without the bolsters. Just would compliment the classic look of the blade a little better perhaps.

Jason,

I really like the black G-10 bolsters, they are becoming a distinctive part of your work.

I like the design and profile of the knife. It looks like it's real comfy to hold and great to use. Not crazy about the G-10 bolsters in combination with the bone though. Weird mix to me.
