Trail amidst the fall colors

Looking for the waterfall

Tulip Poplar

The waterfall was a trickle

Then it rained good and hard for 20 min.

Found some strange anomalies that taste like Girl Scout thin mint cookies!

Did a very quick cook set-up (Pioneer Fire-Lay) for boiling water for noodles and coffee.

With a small fire like this dry sticks can be used for the support poles because they are way out of reach from the fire and plentiful. The cross-stick needs to be green still and thanks to some freshly blown over trees I didn’t have to cut anything standing.

It happens

Natural fork

Project was to carry a small hawk head, but make a handle using both knives for heavy carving to see how comfortable the handles were.

Great pics as always and a treat to see new steel. Good stuff!

I love Fall...

And further more where did you get those knives? I called up an online retailer that has a "headquarters" asking when the camplore line would be released and they had no information from the factory. They recommended I hit the forums for more info and this is the most recent camplore related thread I could find. These knives seem to be EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Classic bush designs with micarta handles by an American company with a life time no questions asked warranty. Do you guys have any info on when/where to get these knives? I'm a big fan of the canterbury design but haven't seen it along with the Bollieu or the Gibson on their website. However it is pictured on the web page that shows the various scenario pictures, my understanding it's the big one of the guy harvesting a croc/alligator on the camplore page.

^^Seems like it. How did they perform? Which did better and would you recommend investing in those blades?
Cheers,
James.

Is this like fight club where the first rule is we don't talk about camp lore?

No, just don't have any info as far as when they are coming out. I did see Jeff this past week and he said they are done and ready, but I didn't ask when the date was for their release.

Great bunch of pictures. Reminds me of my home state of Michigan. Opening day of deer season there today.

That's in NJ? Very unlike the New Jersey I've seen. In fact after last week's drive through the "garden state", I'm now seeing a therapist for PTSD. ;)

This area is beautiful, full of trees, waterfalls, streams, ponds, woods, and more woods. First time in this area I saw a fox!

Thanks so much for the info, man I'm excited for those knives. Also, that looks like just about the perfect day to be in the woods. It's the kind of thing the reminds a lot of us we gotta get out there and make it happen!

Yep. If you make the effort to find that sort of experience in New Jersey, there's not much excuse for the rest of us. :)
