After a lot of research, pricing, and picture shopping I decided to ask John to make a camp knife for me (based on a few photos from his website). I received the finished product on Friday, and while I haven't been able to get into the woods (hike scheduled for Weds.) I wanted to add a few pictures of my own (also, inspired by a desire to see JK Handmade Forum continue).
Here are the knife specs:
6" O1 blade, 3/16" thick, 1" thumb serrations
Tan Micarta handle with black liners
Coyote Brown Specs Ops sheath

Side note:
A SAK Trekker, small swedish firesteel, scraper, magnesium bar, small flashlight, and whistle all fit into the sheath's pouch.

As you can see from the photographs, the knife looks great. I asked John for a slight palm swell and wider handle (hence the liners) and he came through beautifully. I love this knife and can't wait to get out in the woods on Wednesday!!

Very nice. That looks like a great "do anything" blade. Knowing John's blades it will stand up to anything you ask it to.

Looks like a great set up, we will need an after action report on the hike!

Thanks guys, I'm excited to get it dirty as well. I'll probably start with the basics on Weds: slicing, fuzzy sticks, fire starting, and some light batoning. The blade weight and shape are great for all-around work. I usually carry a smaller fixed blade or folder for any delicate tasks, but really wanted a one-size-does-everything-pretty-well blade and I think I have it.

This is my second JK and I regret trading the first. I don't think this one will be going anywhere :thumbup:.

That looks great buddy, you should be set for more or less anything with that set up !;)
