New JK Custom: The Knatchet

Hi folks -

I finally decided to have Stomper craft up one of pitdog's Knatchet designs for me, and just look at what Stomper made!

I like Stomper's maple burl handles, and Stomper had a special piece of wood that was just long enough to make the handles for the Knatchet. It is a real beauty! I have started to ask for red micarta liners with the burl, and I think it comes out nice.

The grinds are the normal JK perfection:

And here is what it looks like next to a snifter of Rare Breed just before I enjoyed the 'turkey and played with my new Knatchet!

Hey mqqn, grate looking set of knives, I can't wait to get my order by the way how are you getting all those made in maple Burl? If you don't mind me asking that is. I haven't seen that as a handle choice, or am i maybe just looking in the wrong place? Thanks

Hi Brandon - I have been using the Riverwoods Companion the most, since it gets kitchen duty. It just works really well at cleaning filet rolls and doing a lot of the tasks I do in the kitchen. Second would be the Combat/Survival knife.

Hi quick kill - Stomper used to have maple burl listed as a handle material choice on his options thread. He does a great job on his handles, and the burl just looks so nice that is what I always want when ordering.

On the last two knives I have asked Stomper to make, I have asked for red liners in addition to the maple burl, which I think is really a classy look.

I just had to have the Bowie when Stomper started making those. He will still make a Bowie, but he has made his last Knatchet.

Stomper also makes a really nice 01 steel hatchet.
