The blade challenged folk are less likely to be challenged if the blade is 3" or less.

When I worked retail a goodly number of years ago, I carried a pocket knife, but also a razor blade knife for opening boxes. Saved a lot of sharpening time.

He'll also enjoy EDCing it while not at work. Great knife, great steel for
ease of sharpening and takes a killer edge. The ergo's are great and the
AO kicks like a mule.

Just a reminder, the original poster wrote that the knife should be "as sheeple friendly as possible." Not sure this knife, an assisted opener that "kicks like a mule," fits that bill.

 I've noticed that if a guy asks for a cheap, friendly, 2" blade, 10 out of 20 responders will still recommend a $400 Sebenza, a Sypdie Zombie-killer, a 19" Randall custom, or some Hawkbill-karambit that would scare even Steven Segal.
:D

A mini grip in a color besides black wont scare anyone and will serve well.
I would also take a look the Spyderco kiwi there classy little knives.

I'll second that one. I am so sick of people saying you need to spend $100 or more on something that is going the be used and abused. Especially when a razorblade or cheap chinese import will do the job just as well, and you haven't blown your toy budget for the month.

I have been using a CRKT Edgie that I picked up on ebay for $0.99 plus shipping of $3-4. It self sharpens, and works really well on boxes and such. And I don't care if it gets destroyed. I would also recommend any of the boxcutters out there. They my not be as sturdy, but you can always replace the blade. The other knife that I use around the office a lot is a folding hawkbill linoleum knife that I picked up at home depot for less than $10. It is also murder on boxes, and has an advantage over the Edgie in that it has a locking blade.
