I was wanting to know who made JS and MS? I heard that there was around 8 JS and 2 MS this year. Any info would be great.

The new Mastersmiths are my buddy Daniel Warren from Canton, NC and Gary House from Ephrata, Washington. Dan won the BR Hughes Award.

Here is the list of the new Journeymen:

Dana Hackney
Michael Christenson
Michael Deibert
Steve Randall
Daniel Erickson
Rob Singleton
Dietrich Podmajersky
Kenneth Hall
Dave Wenger

Michael Deibert won the Peck Award.

Yes congratulations to all, especially my buddy Ken Hall, well done mate I knew you would get your JS stamp!!

Yes, a BIG congrats to the journeyman smith titleholders. The nervous tension in the hall at 8:30 am while they were waiting was charged.

Fortunately, I have group shots of all but two of the above (Wenger, Erickson) in my files. I hope they also had them

Soon.

+1. Great job Ken! I got one of Ken's knives in a KITH last year. I thought it was great then but compared to what he is making now he has only gotten better. It was an honor to have taken the JS test with Ken.

Congrats to each and every one of you....and now that a little weight is lifted from your shoulders you can feel yourselves again....

Thanks for the congrats. It was definitely a relief after the judging was done, lot of fretting over the 5 knives before hand. I was in with a great group of knife-makers, some fantastic displays of craftsmanship. I am excited to get my photo of the 5 from Coop I know he does great work!

Thanks everyone, it was quite a relief to have the judge bring me in and tell me I passed. After failing last year, I know I was more nervous this year.

It was fun getting to know some of the other new Journeyman Smith while at the show. I got to share a table with Dana Hackney and make friends with him and his wife Sandy. Also, it was a pleasure to meet Mike Deibert in person and talk about his mission work.

I look forward to seeing Coop’s pictures of everyone’s knives when they are available.

I am one of the new Journeyman Smiths and this was my first BLADE SHOW. Ohhhh what fun!!!! I had a great time. After passing the Test Fri. morning it was all an added bonus after that.

Here are some pics of my JS test set and a few more knives I have done up to this point. ( litlle known fact: My JS set put me over the "100th knife made" mark)

Thanks for looking.
