Just received an Endura Wharny in K390 and I'm stoked. When I took it out of the package I noticed the blade already had 3-4 small patina marks on it though. The dessicant pack was present and the knife looks brand new. I bought it from the same dealer I always go with.

I'm not posting this to moan and whine; the plan was to make this a user. I'm just wondering if anyone else out there has received a Spydie in the same steel with pre-existing marks. Cheers!

All my K390 Seki Spydercos have had a thick coating of oil. I’ve had the dessicant pack leave light staining on two of my Maxamet Golden knives, literally the discoloration was under the pack where it was touching the blade. Both wiped away with Flitz.

I handled a new K390 Delica that did not have any patina yet, but I think it will happen eventually with this steel.

Hmm. These marks are more akin to fingerprints. I'm wondering if I got a floor model. I'll keep Flitz in mind though. Thanks!

Oh for sure. I'm totally fine with the knife developing patina. In fact I'm hoping for it. But it shouldn't have arrived brand new to my door with patina already.

Never had this happen, but I love a good patina. I'd probably call them and thank them for getting it started for me. But yeah, if it bothers you, Flitz will do the trick.
