hey evrerybody....i am new to kershaw knives in general...i got my first need's work folder not too long ago.....i just ordered a blur with the sg2 steel for my birthday.....i am excited....i am not a fan of recurves and i love the ao feature on the ken onion knives.....the blur's edge only dips a little at the heel though so i should be ok.....i have read alot of posts about the steel's edge retention and how nice of a knife it is....thanks to str and other's who posted about the knife.....i was actually deciding between this knife and a damascus leek.....the blur won out.....can't wait to get it....ryan

Congrats! The Blur is a great knife. I use mine everyday for work.

Come back and tell us how you like it after you get it.

One thing to consider for recurved knives is serrations. I don't mind a recurve but I don't go for many combination edges -- nevertheless, combo edge on a recurve is particularly effective. It gives them a small hawksbill effect, helping to grab at fibers.

Congratulations!

I just picked up a new S30V Blur PE and think it's a terrific knife.
Great build quality and wicked sharp out of the box.

And a bonus is that it looks even better in person than it does on a computer screen!

Happy Birthday!
The SG2 Blur is a great knife and the blade steel will be easier to take care of than the Damascus Leek. You made a great choice.

On the other hand, I think you'll be seeing a lot more Damascus Leek threads and pics here soon, and you'll end up wanting one of those too!

i almost ordered the damascus leek.....i have quite a few damascus edc's already and i wanted to try the steel in the blur so....we'lll see how it goes....ryan

i got my blur today!!!!!!!!!!....give it to the the kershawstore.com....no affiliation to kershaw inc......i ordered my blur on friday got it on monday....super fast shipping.....it is a nice color brown.....much nicer than the pics show on websites.....that's why it is so helpful to have people posts pics of their new knives.....it feels alot lighter than i thought it would be....locks up good and tight .....it is a little awkwars using the thumbstud to open it....i am used to the "needs work" folder....which has the tab on top of the spine....i got used to it after about a dozen openings though.....can' wait to see how the sg2 steel holds up.....ryan

I have one and really like it, got it to use for LEO use. I ended up using it for outdoors stuff as well.
I keep the blade sharp with a ceramic Gatco tri-hone. It's nice curved edge works really well on the re-curved area.
