After carrying a Gerber mini-parafeame for years, I'd been wanting to pick up a larger, quality folder for EDC. I started google searching and found that I kept being directed to this forum when I looked up most knives. That's how I found out about kershawguy, where I found his Blur blems. I loved the look of this knife and was happy to see it at such a great price. I ordered on Friday, and it came today. I've only had it in my possession for about five hours now, but it was definitely love at first fondle. This thing feels great in the hand, and the assisted opening is quick and butter smooth.

I will post some pics. One question I have, though, is regarding the markings on a blem. From what I've read, I should have expected four Xs stamped into the blade. Mine has none. Is this weird, or normal? I'm definitely happy to not have them. Anyway, I think I'm going to be thrilled with this knife. I think I'm also going to pick up a Skyline because they are so universally loved.

Pics, as promised:

The 1670TBLK blems like yours here I've seen have not had the Xs on them for some reason. They were mis-modeled as tanto blades by the part number is what gives them their "blem" status. I have one I use as my EDC actually. Finds it's way to my waistband more than any other knife I have. Welcome to the world of Blurs! :)

Nice upgrade from the Gerber. Not sure why it didn't have the XXXX marking, mine does. The Blur is nice for sure, but a Skyline will fit in the pocket a little easier. I just can't make the Blur work with some of my pants.

Glad you like the blur. It is definitely a good edc. Be careful or you will up with a small collection of them.

The Blur is definitely one of Kershaw's must-haves. Sooner or later you'll be wanting different colors and blade steels so watch out. It's an addictive knife. Have you heard about de-assisting it? You don't have too but I'd recommend it. I'd say it's even smoother as a manual. You'll love it even more than you do now.

I've read about de-assisting the knife. I'm not sure if I want to do that or not. Might just have to go ahead and buy another one for that experiment.

The more I handle this thing, the more I like it. Was thinking about grabbing one as a gift for my dad, too. He still carries a two-blade Old Timer that has been sharpened so many times the blade looks like a leather punch. He's due for an upgrqde. I figure a knife like this would be useful for him around the farm.

To comment on the lack of XXXX, I bought a blem Zing from KGuy and found that the marks were lacking. I checked with him and he confirmed that it was indeed a blem. Sometimes they just come like that, especially for a ninja skills dealer like kershawguy

The Blur is one of the nicest feeling knives I have, and it's the best de-assisted knife. All manuals should be that slick.
