I got this Leek today at Dicks for $50. I ordered a Skyline but needed something to hold me over until it got here;).

It has the big logo and the grips and liners are separate unlike the regular Leek. This is the first assisted opener I've had and I really like it.:D

The Leek is a sweet knife. It was my first quality knife that brought me over to the dark side :) I keep toying with the idea of grabbing a blackwashed one but I dunno if it would make the rotation I've got too many that don't already

I agree. It is my first "real knife" as in over $25. I also ordered both a Skyline and a Tenacious, they should be here Monday.

That's awesome welcome aboard my friend. Make sure to post them in the EDC thread man! The leek ushered me along to Zero Tolerance, and eventually CRK, and now I've just wet my toes in the traditional side of knives. Good taste in knives and a membership here will bring you in the right direction!!

My favorite Leek is the reverse tanto Random Leek, I could do without the serrated but I like the knife overall.

I never picked up a skyline but it's gets a lot of love around here, I feel like I skipped over it and may have to try it sometime. Assisted open isn't really my taste anymore though.

Good choice with the Leek. I've got a composite blade one that remains one of my favorite EDC knives.

On production knives, it can happen. What I look for is if it is very far off center and rubbing the liners, as it will create an odd wear mark on the side of the blade where it is hitting the liners.

I've been playing with it all afternoon and there is no wear mark, I'm not gonna worry about it. Thanks.

Just get a torx screwdriver set most likely 1/8th turn of the pivot screw would center it. You will need the torx to take it apart and relube the torsion bar (the spring mechanism for the assist) when it starts to rattle anyway. And don't stress the assist is a really simple design. These knives are not hard to take apart and reassemble, just be careful not to drop and lose one of the screws lol.

I really like Kershaw stuff also. I don't have a Leek, but I have a Zing SS and a Cryo. Kershaw's SpeedSafe stuff is great. Congrats on the cool knife.

What are the grips made of? I don't think I've seen what you are describing before. I bought a black dlc leek earlier this year. I'm usually more of a traditional guy, but the leek is a great knife.

Pretty sure this is an old style Leek. Liner lock instead of frame lock, and aluminum handles. Seems like they overcharged him a bit. Sporting goods stores are a big ol' ripoff.

Yes, it should be a liner lock. $50 isn't bad for an H3 Leek - non blem.

Aluminum, its a liner lock instead of a frame lock.

Be careful not to drop it on hard flooring. A bunch of fellows at work use leeks....and most have the tips broken off from dropping. Great knife.....but the thin tip for superior piercing and cutting has a trade off.

I don't expect you would drop it....just in case though.

I bought a Leek as a first knife for my son. I've tried everything, Benchmade, Spyderco but he won't give up his Leek. It is a get knife.
