Sorry guys, I've been very busy ever since returning from Blade that I haven't been able to put up pics/info on the new stuff. Yesterday I got a couple of the new Kershaw Ken Onion Blurs in [see pics and specs here: http://www.kershawknives.com/newproducts.htm ] My favorite is the red one. These are shipping to dealers NOW! These are outstanding in terms of quality and design. Some folks may not care for the grip tape inlays as they may find them to be a bit too abrasive for their liking. The blade shape is a drop point with the hint of a recurve. Very sweet!

The Bump is the next high end Onion collaboration. I was informed at Blade that delivery will be in the July/August timeframe. Well, here it is mid August already and still now word on the release. I wouldn't hold my breath if you know what I mean! But, this knife is waaay cool and will be worth the wait.

Also new is the Military Knife, a boot knife style fixed blade that is slender and easy to carry. It features a blade/tang/bolster that are all integral, drop forged. Handle scales are of POM, a kind of molded thermoplastic. A Kydex sheath is supplied with each knife.

Hi Dexter,

Thanks for the info. Blur is a sweet knife.

By the way -- It was nice to meet you and your lady at the Kershaw booth at Blade.

Puts a face with the name.

Can anyone tell me what the Bump is going for? I really like the looks of that design!

Does anyone remember maybe 15 years ago a German boot knife that looked a lot like this, maybe not quite as slim? I was never able to find a source, but I wanted one bad! :)

Fish and Esav,

Kershaw marketed that knife about 14 years ago and it was called the Military Boot Knife. It had a more traditional boot knife blade shape and a false edge, but not so deeply ground. It had a sandblasted blade and matte finish black Micarta handle scales. It had a blade length of 4 3/4", an overall length of 9 1/8" and was made from 3/16" bladestock. It was sold with a black leather belt clip sheath. It had a retail price of $105.00 and was made in Solingen, Germany.

I know this because I have a Cutlery Shoppe catalog from Fall of '89 and it's in there.:) I wanted one for a while there too!;)

The more things change the more they stay the same :D

I remember the "old" Kershaw "Military" boot knife. I had an "Amphibian" that I got in 83 or 84 & I remember seeing the "one that I really wanted" in an under-the-arm rig on a dealer at a gun show circa '87. Couldn't afford it at the time. I wonder if there are any around?
