guys amongst the khukeries im getting tomorrow is this one from h.i.
its made by bura and has scrimshaw work on the bone handle slabs this kuk is in pristine condition i belive the scrimshaw work was done at the point of manufacture as some of the laha has seeped out over the scales when the handle was being put together partialy obscuring a little of the pattern on one of the scales so it wasnt done after as a customising job later now what i would like to know is dose anyone reconise what model it is and roughly when it was made. thanks mick

sorry but untill i get it these are the best pics i have

That's beautiful. Looks like a decorated M-43 to me, but I could be wrong. Hopefully one of our scholars/historians can shed some light on it.

hi again guys heres a slightly better pic
the black smudge on the bottom of the handle is the laha i was on about in the first post
mick

if you click on the pic to get a bigger one you'll see buras mark

Yep definitely an M-43, and a fine one at that. I know next to nothing about the scrimshander's art, but that smudge doesn't seem like it would be all that hard to fix.

hi
hopefully if it is laha thats seeped i'll be able to gently pick it off with
some cocktail sticks without causing any damage fingers crossed
thanks for the info guys
