Recieved my first HI khukuri today, I got a chitlange by Santosh. The OAL is 18" blade length about 12 inches. Right away I notice the weight while it is only about a inch and a half longer than my sirupate from kukrihouse it is also twice if not more the width. I had to use it right away and while it did not do any wood chopping duties I put I to use in the kitchen chopping onions bell peppers and quartering chicken. I also sliced pinapples for dessert. I had a hard time with the bell peppers and used the small knife not sure of the proper name but it worked well. I really like the simplicity of the small knife. The fit and finish was good although the buttcap feels like it has a sharp edge. The khukuri came very sharp and I think the sheath is very well done. I love this tool. I can't wait to chop something with it. That will come when I go camping on the 24th.

Thanks the karda worked well. So the sharpening steel is the chakma? I like it a lot my wife is actually getting a little annoyed because I keep fondling my new toy/tool/weapon. It just has so many practical uses I think for everyday carry in my truck, I am definitely going to have to purchase a 12 or 15 inch chiruwa ang khola for when tshtf. Now that I have tried both companies HI and KH I find I like both companies and both products for different reasons. However the CAK is now calling me I think once I purchase a CAK and a esee 4 my knife collection will be complete.

Just wait till you return from that trip on the 24th.
Then you'll know if your collection is really complete:D

I often criticize my wife for buying so many hand bags. Now I understand with my khukuri. One, two, three, four,... how many would be enough. :)
