As the title says I'm new to this forum so I'll give a little back groud info on myself.
First I do not claim to be a knife collector and my knowledge about collecting knives is zero.
When I was a kid I had a pretty good assortment of knives, some Schrades but most were Imperial knives that I purchased at the local hardware store in town.
Through all the years those knives have been lost.
Fast forward to now, I was at a farm auction a few weeks back and the gentleman they were having the auction for must have been a knife collector.
I was viewing all the knives in his collection and it brought back a lot of fond memories of when I was kid, so I bought a very large portion of his collection.
The three main manufacture of the kives I bought are Schrade, Camillus an Imperial.
I've done some research and found manufacture dates for the Schrade knives I have but I've not had any luck on the Camillus or Imperial knives.
If possible could someone please direct me to information on manufacture dates of Camillus and Imperial knives?
Thanking everyone in advance for any assistance on this.
Best Regards
Bob Hunter

Sorry, can't help with any info, but welcome to the club :grumpy:

I'm new to this forum, too (first post here). I'm mostly a reader, but I can tell you from my initial experience that you've definitely come to the right place for information on your Camillus knives. There are some long-time Camillus folks here... some who spent years working for Camillus. They also have a website that I've found to be invaluable in helping me date my Camillus knives: http://www.collectors-of-camillus.us/. There, among other things, you can find Camillus catalogs from 1946 to 2006. Welcome to BladeForums!

Bob - Welcome. MerryMadMonk gave you some great sites. There are some very knowledgeable Camillus collectors who check in here. If you would be able to post pictures, it would be a big help identifying your knives. To post pictures, you need to upload them to a photo hosting site like Photobucket, and copy and paste the URL with the IMG tags into your post.

This Imperial stamp chart really help with dates:

And this older Camillus thread is a good one:

Thanks to everyone for your help and welcoming me to this forum.
I'll do some checking on my knives and post what I figure are the manufacture dates.
Thanks again to all.
Best Regards

Here's a list of the knives I ended up with from the farm sale.
I have 16 Schrade knives, 9 Camillus knives (two are fixed blade) and 4 Imperial knives counting the Imperial Diamond edge # 363, 1 Syracuse knife Company #357, 1 Colonial Pin Knife (watch fob knife?) 2 unknown name USA watch fob knives and 1 Boker USA knife that I'm using as a pocket knife.
Model numbers for the Schrade knives are 272, 708, 808, 808Y, 809M, 778, 946 ssome of these model numbers I have three and four of, some are NIB.
Model numbers of the Camillus kives are 21, 49P, 60, 65, 67,73 NIB, 1006 fixed blade, US1009 fixed blade.
I think I have most of the knives dated, thanks to the help I received here.
Now I'm going to try and research the value of them.
Thanks agian for the help I received.
Best Regards

Welcome Bob and congratulations on your notable score! Was the Syracuse knife made in USA or was in a Polish import (from mid-70s)? We love pictures here, by the way, in case you haven't figured that out already. :)

Thanks for the welcome. The Syracuse knife is the Polish version it looks like a Swiss Army knife.
As for pictures for now I do not have that capability. I've went to using a lap top and my old camera is not compatable with it.
Best Regards
