I'm sorry the pictures are so bad. I'll try for better ones later, but they certainly do not do the blade justice. The lines and fit/finish are perfect and the blade shape should be great for both wood working and game. I really love the Kifaru. The quality of workmanship is fantastic (made by a small shop in CO). The organizational pockets and spaces are well thought out and it holds far more than I first thought. I'm planning to add the shoulder straps at a later date (have to wait for the budget to refill) and maybe the Omni-belt.

I'm open to any thoughts about what to add or take away from my kit. We're moving into the fall hunting/hiking season and winter will be here soon, so my kit will probably change some. I usually move up to a Maxped. Pygmy Falcon II or Snugpak Sleeka 35 for fall hikes to accomodate more water and more clothing/sleeping items.

Again thanks for looking. I'll post more pictures with the Laconico after I've had it in the woods for a while.

Nice setup, I love thetailgunner, Ive wanted one for quite some time....

Laconico makes a great blade.....

Thank you for the responses. Please feel free to offer any criticisms as well. I'm always looking to improve my kit. I headed to a local area for a day hike this weekend. Hopefully I'll get to take some pictures and most a few more thoughts about knife/pack/kit.

Glad it worked out for you. I travel with mine everywhere. When I switch cars, it does too. Keep it nearby and it will never fail you.

I absolutely love that kep/muk! Ray if you're reading this, don't forget the pattern! Sadly, I saw the original for sale thread, but couldn't pull the trigger. I have no extra money right now. I'm saving up, tho...

I actually have a full flat ground d-r butcher knife that I cut to almost the same blade shape about a year ago. It works great for me, but is obviously neither as well made nor as good looking as that one. I'm interested to see how it works out for you...
