Without my knowing, after work, my wife went to the humane society today, just to 'look' at puppies. (This would be comparable to asking an alcholic to only get a bag of chips from a liquor store OR an INFIholic to not buy anything at Blade)
She called me at home, and asked me if we could keep it (the kitten). At first I was very reluctant, but she told me it was all by itself and it was a boy! (IMO, these usually make better pets) So, being the softie that I am, I said fine, and now it's in our bathroom, just getting used to the place.
He looks like he might get big, but maybe that's only wishful thinking on my part, as I prefer larger cats as pets. He is a tabby (known as a tiger cat, gray/brown with stripes), but from what I can tell so far, he has thick solid lines with a more contrast that the average tabby, looking more like the fancy tabbies that bred for show. I'm not sure if he's going to stay that way, but I'm happy with his markings.
Unfortunetly, I don't have a camera, or I'd show him off, sorry.
I am very happy today. I really love the cats that we have now, but being girls, they aren't quite the pet that I would really like. Of course, it's going to take around 2 or 3 years before I get the cat that I want out of this little boy, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
..
And BTW, my wife and I haven't thought of name yet, just argued about it a bit; and I'd happily consider suggestions. (nothing cliche, please)
