Just received my long awaited Kiwi. The jigged bone is absolutely beautiful and matched perfectly on both sides. The color is a very attractive honey brown. My only dilemma is that the blade is off-center and the blade tang rubs hard enough to "click" when opening/closing the knife. It is quite annoying and obviously passed QC accidently. My only concern is that if I send it back to Spyderco for repair will they be able to correct the problem or do they just replace the knife? This is where my dilemma begins. I have rarely seen such perfectly matched jigged bone both in color and texture. The fit and finish of the rest of the knife is perfect! Is there a way to correct the blade positioning? I have done it before on a William Henry liner lock but never tried on a coventional lock.
What would you guys do? I could possibly "hone" the rub spots until they were eliminated?? I know the off centered nature would still bug me though. I wonder if all the Kiwi models have nicely matched jigged bone? BTW, the ergonomics of this knife is great! It is nice to see natural handle materials and the warmth it imparts on the design.
Thanks for any feedback. Dave
