The Jigged Bone variety. Really love it. Will post initial impressions when I have more time-but just to sum it up, great ergos, great finish, but wish it was a flat ground blade :)

Well, on to the promised initial impressions.

The Kiwi is small, elegant and a good performer. I picked it up from a local store for about 150-which when you consider shipping, etc isn't really that bad. I got it after going to The Deacon's web site :)

The Kiwi carries small, but packs a good four-finger grip. There are two finger-choils, which give it excellent grip security. The inside edges of the handle are not sharp at all, and the fit of the bone inlays is very good. The blade angle is slightly negative.

The Kiwi packs two metal bolsters on each end. Despite my dislike for metal handles, these are pretty well done, though they scratch easily.

The blade is wickedly pointed; VG10 is a great steel and Spyderco does it well. I wish it were thinner ground though; the edge is really thick for a small knife. A FFG would be ideal of course. It really gets in the way of whittling and fine cutting.

All in all, an excellent knife. I'm very happy with it, although I would be happier with a FFG and MOPA scales :)

Hey, this got bumped. Cool :)

As a quick update, the bolsters on this knife scratch pretty easily just like all the SS Spydercos. The blade dulled fairly quickly on cutting copper wires, but that's sort of expected. It holds up very well to anything soft, as well as wood.

I have the jigged bone as well -- really nice little knife. I do wish the slip case it came in had a snap -- it often slides out of the slip case then out of my pocket...
