new knife!(11)

heres the next!
ol length 7 1/2
blade is o1
cocobolo scales
hand sanded to 1500 grit then buffed (thats as high as the store stocks :grumpy: )
note the knife isnt finished and the handle isnt epoxied yet.
so sugestions/pointers/comments needed
sorry for the wd40 on the blade

I really dig this design. The form is such that it doesn't look like the piece of steel it originally came from. The choil is great - it sort of refelcts the point on the other side of it and really compliments the overall look. It looks like it would be a pleasure to use.

just playin around and sharpened it .It cuts great and got it shaving sharp!

Peter : I do both but this wasnt forged. i like removal because it comes annealed and is easier to grind. i forge most of my knives from round stock but soon ill try barstock. ;)
 
That's cool, and probably best. My one problem with stock removal is the fact that you have just made a blade from twice the steel required to forge, and you've had no actual control over what has been going on with the steel during the shaping process. Then again, there is a whole lott less room for error that can happen while forging steel.
