What's up guys. Buzzsaw here. First post so I figure I would get it started with what I'm working with.

Up top is the newest to my collection. Osborne 940-1 carbon fiber with s90v steel and a deep pocket clip added. Probably going to put the black deep carry one back on and save silver for another. This knife is SUPER light weight and very strong material. It is so lightweight that at first flipping it open using the axis lock I would almost throw it out of my hand. After a few days I got used to it and handle it like a pro. Overall this is probably my favorite knife I've ever owned. It opens like butter and snaps snug and has no blade play. I did use LOW STRENGTH thread locker on the blade pivot screw. Never use any permanent thread lock or you'll never be able to get it open. This was about 260$

Next is my olive griptillian that I have had over 4 years. This knife just got a good cleaning and oil. If you're looking for a daily use knife that won't break the bank.. you just can't go wrong with one of these. The 154cm steel sharpens up great and is a flexible steel. I'm a construction foreman now and this knife has been with me since I was a grunt. It literally has fallen on concrete and dropped dozens of times. It's been used to cut on hard surfaces and just all out abused. This knife has somehow held up and the reason I love benchmade products so much. The coated blade is the only downfall but I hear 20-30$ you can send in and get a new blade put on or even upgrade to a better steel. You can't beat that. This cost me about 80-100$ a few years ago. This will always be my go to blade in my EDC.

Finally is the 6800 APB that I have on order and will be getting UPS on Monday. Can't wait to get it and I noticed there are very few reviews or people that have posted about this so I'll defenitely give everyone some pics and the scoop once I get my hands on it. Costs about 240$. I got the satin serrated blade 154cm.

So this is what I'm working with that is worth mentioning... Some of you guys have some amazing collections and seriously cool customs. I'm a new knife addict and the 940-1 and 6800 are both purchased within a month. Got about every type of firearm so now I need some knives ;)... Going to get a spyderco or two soon and some nice fixed blades also. Let me know if you guys have any questions or comments.

Welcome!
This is great place to learn about knives and such. I got a 940-1 two weeks ago and absolutely love it as well. If looking at a spyderco I recommend a Paramilitary 2. They are a great knife with a good reason. Knifeworks has them on sale right now for $104 for the satin blade with black g-10

I hate you. Now I have two orders in the works from Knifeworks. I'm at a little over 600$ in past 3 weeks lol. These tools are amazing pieces of technology. Once I started seeing what all it took going into these knives to make them what they are, I started seeing a piece of what all you guys see and started to appreciate them. I bought that griptillian just because I wanted a high quality knife. Now I'm actually learning about all of the materials and way they work and how they are made... Monday I have the 6800 auto and by Wednesday or Thursday paramilitary 2 :)..

Someone give me an idea for a badass fixed blade. And what's the big deal with these lanyards people put on their knives? It looks like something that would just get in the way?

Welcome from a fellow lefty. Your 940-1 looks suspiciously like mine; same deep carry clip and even on the proper side.

You'll probably like the Para 2, it's a good value for $104. This place can put you in the poor house though if you let it.

People use lanyards to get knives out of pockets easier and sometimes on small knives as a faux handle extension.

Nice collection. You can't go wrong with a Benchmade! I won't even get started on Spyderco. They have become my new brand addiction for now...until I return to Kershaw haha.

Well, good luck with your collection and addiction, it can be a rough AND expensive road. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask any of the great folks here...including this lowly FNG.
