Well yesterday I had a visit from the UPS man. I finally received my Chris Reeves Green Beret and my New Lagana VTAC. Man are they nice. The GB is a beautiful knife And the Hawk is awsome as well. My main questions are about storage. The GB might sit for a few months in between uses because I have a Phrobis CUK that is my primary knife. The directions that came with it were not very detailed as to long term storage other than not to store it in the BlackHawk sheath that it came in. I just wrapt it up seperately in some of the tissue paper that it was packed in and put it back in the box. I don't feel very comfortable about this but I don't realy know if it's bad for it or not. Can somebody recommend how I should store it for long periods at a time. Like what to wrap it in ect. The VTAC seems like it would be less of a concern as far as storage goes but let me know if I'm wrong about that.
I did a search on here about storage but came up with nothing.

Are u just worried about rust/corrosion? If so, I think you could put a very light film of oil on it, and it should hold fine in the sheath. i'm not too familiar with this knife, and don't wanna search right now, so i don't know if it's leather. if leather, may need to sit outside it.

if worried about it getting damaged, etc, i guess you could get a storage bin at my house...i'll make sure it is "taken care of" during the interim...hehe.

It has a Blackhawk sheath ( nylon with a kydex insert). Is it safe to keep it in that for an extended period of time? Or should I wipe it down with some WD-40 or 3in1 oil and wrap it up in a T-shirt seperate from the sheath? I'm wondering if I were to put the oil on it and store it in the sheath if the oil would hurt the kydex insert since I'm guessing that kydex is a plastic and 3in1 is a petroleum product. I would be ablydged if someone could help me with this.

You could always use some sorta mineral oil, which is found in the laxative section of most pharmacies. It may alleviate your concerns of kydex damage. Plus, you can use the knife for food prep needs, as it's consumable (though, it's in the laxative section for a reason...). I think your sheath should be safe with that. However, if you are concerned, you could just store them seperate.
