My wife bought me my first sebenza for Christmas from plaza cutlery. Can't decide it I want to keep it or go for a more plane one as my first so I won't be afraid to use it.
 
Wow, that's a vey generous christmas gift. I would not use or carry a UG Sebenza. If you like the look and feel of that nice UG Sebenza keep this one in your collection and go buy a plain one.

As an alternative: you could order a plain scale to replace the UG showside.

Well I would not, what does not mean everyone should not. I don't have a UG yet but I would buy one as a collection knife to look at and play with. I find it to be too precious to use, but that's just me.

Well, you're in a very priviledged position when it comes to CRK knives :) You have an impressive collection and i really appreciate those many photos you've postet in is forum.

When I buy my UG (propably in 2017) it would be my grail knife (maybe damascus) that I would not really use.

I know if I keep it, it will find its way to my pocket. I took that picture closed the box so I couldn't get to it.

I am so back and forth on it.

I bet it would make your wife happy if she sees you using and carrying that Christmas present rather than selling it and getting another one... :)
 
I say if you have it use it, it is only a knife. I feel how can you enjoy it if it is in a safe. At least I can see it's beauty when using it. It can always be sent back to CRK for a spa treatment.

Lanyard removed, clip removed, clip insert installed and placed in one of my original CRK cordura sheaths from way back when - next step on my belt for use.

 
I also bought and received a brand new Small Sebenza Elk Mountain from New Graham Knives yesterday

Totally agree! I carry an Annual Sebenza and I slip it out of the sheath to admire it's beauty probably 10 to 15 times a day when I carry it... :D

Howard, I do the same thing to all my CRKs after I receive them. Except I change the lanyard to the one I prefer (either leather or a charcoal colored one). Totally hate pocket clips... :)

PS: looks like you got lucky and there are no pocket clip marks on that back side... :thumbup:

Why would you not keep it. Your wife got you a seriously nice knife. My wife got me a blue steam TI lock that was also way more than I would ever spend.
Carry it. Thats why she bought it for you.:thumbup:
